Ive taken various first aid courses over the last 20 years, this class was definitely one of my favourite. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. They made the learning engaging and fun.I highly recommend Canadian Outdoor.
Matthew and his team at Canadian Outdoor Med are top notch educators in the field of wilderness first aid. My team of instructors and guides benefited immensely from the course content, Matthew's expertise, and all the applied simulations he ran us through.I will be bringing Canadian Outdoor Med back every year for a refresher for my staff. What an asset to our industry to have risk management and first aid professionals who are so passionate about delivering potentially life saving education.Any guiding or coaching operator who wants to reduce operational risk, and deliver a higher standard of care to their clients should invest in having Matthew and Canadian Outdoor Med train their staff.-Patrick Nolan, Head coach and owner of Nolan Riding, Vancouver Island BC.
Recently completed the WAFA/AST2 course with Canadian Outdoor Medical and Aurora Backcountry - I highly recommend this course and the instructor (Matt) if you spend anytime in the backcountry. Not for the faint of heart! Expect 5 very long, but worthwhile days!
Matt did an excellent job administering the mountain-bike-specific WAFA 40 hour course. I learned a lot and it was delivered very safely adhering to Covid restrictions. I highly recommend this course to anyone who spends time recreating in the outdoors.
Would highly recommend Canadian Outdoor Medical Consulting to anyone who wants to obtain some form of wilderness first aid. Matt and Heather did an excellent job at keeping the course exciting and engaging, through implementing a perfect blend of outdoor practice and indoor theory. Thank you!
I’ve taken several wilderness first aid courses and this one was by far the most engaging! Matt and crew provided a low stress, supportive learning environment. I would recommend this course to anyone recreating in the outdoors.
This is a necessary course if you participate in the outdoors. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and provide you with the tools, skills and confidence to respond to a situation. The content is very engaging and you are never not bored! Do this course. You will not regret it. You will be a better adventure partner for it!
