The Wilderness First Aid program a course that concentrates on the basics of packaging and transporting patients and managing life and limb threats in remote environments, with a focus on the injuries common to mountain bikers and extrication techniques.
Includes prevention and treatment of common environmental problems like Hypothermia and Heat Exhaustion and Stroke, as well as covering choking, drowning and includes a CPR certification.
The Wilderness Advanced First Aid course adds in some more specific knowledge such as reduction of dislocations and more advanced patient moving techniques, as well as a much greater amount of time for hands on training.
Due to COVID-19, Canadian Wilderness Medical Training is offering an online program allowing you to extend your Wilderness First Responder Certification for a period of 9 months.
This Google Classroom assignment-based program can be started at anytime and, once complete, a certification will be sent by email.
Upon Registration, you will receive an invitation to the Google Class. An instructor will be available to guide you through the process should you have any questions or concerns about the training.
